How are Choice and Kingdom Trust related

Who is Kingdom Trust?

Kingdom Trust is an independent qualified custodian regulated by the South Dakota Division of Banking. Since our founding in 2009, we have historically specialized in unique and innovative custody solutions for individual investors, investment sponsors, family offices, advisory firms, broker-dealers and other investment platforms. We hold more than $8 billion in assets on behalf of 20,000+ account holders.

In 2017 we became the first qualified custodian to offer custody for bitcoin and quietly began powering an emerging industry for holding bitcoin in retirement accounts. Since then, thousands of clients have turned to us for this service which has made it an important driver of our business.

What is Choice?

In 2020 Kingdom Trust launched Choice, an app for investing in bitcoin and digital assets inside qualified accounts alongside traditional securities like stocks and ETFs.

We believe that saving should be easy, and shouldn't require multiple accounts at different providers to invest in both traditional and alternative assets. We also believe that everyone should be able to benefit from the tax-efficiencies that structures like IRAs and trusts can afford.

Since introducing Choice, the need - and demand - for this became even more clear. So in 2021 we decided to sunset the Kingdom Trust brand and rebrand to Choice. This reflects our refocused mission: expanding access to bitcoin, digital assets and the ecosystem surrounding these assets in tax-efficient ways.

How are Choice and Kingdom Trust related?

Legally, we are still registered and regulated as The Kingdom Trust Company. Practically speaking, Choice and Kingdom Trust are one entity.
